Today is the official opening date of "The Hunger Games" - the release of the movie into theatres.

Hunger Games Post 3: Safe and Sound Cover by Kina Grannis

As you all may know, "The Hunger Games" movie is coming out on March 23, as the cliche goes, "to a movie theater near you."

My favorite song from the OST of the movie, "Safe and Sound", is sung by Taylor Swift, as I have posted on a previous post. Lots of music artists have posted covers of the song online.

My favorite is the one by Kina Grannis, a musician from California. She has a beautiful voice and is AMAZING.

Yes, as you guys and gals all know, I am obsessed with the Hunger Games trilogy. And I am super super excited that the movie is coming out.

The Hunger Games! Trailers, soundtrack, and more

I'm sure most (if not all) of you guys and gals have heard of the Hunger Games.

A game of chicken to see who can go the longest without eating?
A play on the name of a certain central European country, where Olympic-eque games are held?
Just a form of amusement for me to write in a super-long title for a blog post?

Nope.

The Hunger Games is a trilogy by Suzanne Collins. It is an adventure series set in a post-apocalyptic world in the country of Panem, where the capital rules over 12 (if not 13) districts. Alluding to the ancient myth of Theseus and the Minotaur, each year, two children one boy and one girl, from each district are selected to compete in the "Hunger Games" in the capital, where they fight to the death till one is left alive.

And now, I won't spoil anymore, so those of you who haven't read it can enjoy without my spoilers.

The Hunger Games, the first book, is followed by Catching Fire, and Mockingjay.

      

These books have recently become some of the most popular among all age groups of adults, as well as among children. They have gained fame equivalent to the level of (perhaps even) the Harry Potter series, the Twilight saga, and the Inheritance cycle.

The books have become so popular that a movie is being made out of them. The first movie, "The Hunger Games", stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson and is based off of the eponymous first book.

   

The movie is coming out on March 23. I can't wait for it to come out! If you guys have not read the series yet, I would highly encourage you to do so. I "accidentally" stumbled upon this book one day while going through the shelves of my brother's room (I was dusting the room). Picked it up, and forgot about the dusting for a 3.5-hour marathon. I could not take my eyes off of the book's pages. Soo good. Soo good.

Emma Watson - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2

Obviously, HP7 part 2 is coming out soon (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2). The movie, that is.

I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!

One of my favorite actresses is definitely Emma Watson. She is extremely pretty and smart and talented. She is a very intelligent, worldly young woman who definitely has a lot going on for her.

So therefore, this is going to be a photo album, of sorts, of her. All images will be credited.

Nikita

So there's a new show on the CW called Nikita.

It's absolutely fantastic.

Now, I've gotta say, there are some corny parts. The killed lover, mysterious stranger, themes of revenge and romance, deception and manipulation, all come into play. Typically, Nikita is about a teenage girl who is either homeless or a drug addict, and kills a cop or is framed for doing so. She then gets sent to jail, is sentenced to death, and one day, wakes up in a mysterious room. A guy named Michael tells her that an organization has recruited her to do things, and has decided to give her a new chance at life. Now, I'm not gonna spoil the rest of the story for you, but it's been shown in several forms before.

The latest one, on the CW, in season 1, is my favorite. Here, Nikita has gotten out of the organization she is in (which basically trains her to be an assassin) and is fighting against them. Along with many other interesting characters.

I've watched every episode of the series, and I seriously think that it's pretty good. It's definitely worth watching, even though there might be some cheesy moments. Look up times on the internet to find out when it airs in your area. Have fun!
